behind the lens.

A lot of people point their cameras to their respective subjects, but for me I just want to point it at the mirror grabbing a picture of myself, the man behind the lens.

Just getting curious on how an image is captured through the eyes of the photographer.

My own share of vanity and synonymous with shameless self-promotion. HAHA.

Pushing the limits.

It’s been awhile since I posted something on this site. I got busy with a lot of things and probably got busy with my new found addiction—running. Before, I thought running was just a simple as it seems but later on I found myself that things are just never easy.

One of the essentials of running is pacing. I’m a slow runner, but it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you are comfortable with the way you run and most of all finish it.

When I found myself enjoying running, I started to think about learning how to swim. Swimming has been an issue for me. I’m afraid of the water by being submerged into the vast abyss of Poseidon’s territory. I don’t have any skill in swimming.

Fortunately, as I was contemplating on this matter, I agreed to learn it even though I was having this fear inside me. I entrusted my life with the person who’ll teach me to swim.

For several meetings I struggled to learn having the proper timing, focus and synchronizing my arms and legs. Later on, I felt comfortable with the water, not panicky as before, just having the right form and focus on the lesson at hand.

I couldn’t even believe that for several years of my existence, I finally learn how to swim, not really perfected it but at least knowing the proper strokes, timing and breathing. I felt so overwhelmed with the things that happened to me that having the proper attitude and persistence you can achieve what you thought you can’t achieve.

Nothing is ever easy, all things will go through this. I’m halfway with my lessons and I do hope I will finally perfect my routine crossing my first 50-meter lap.

Swimming and running compliment each other. It allows you to develop endurance and makes you feel alive. I look forward to learning a lot more strokes and at the same time, fulfill my goal for my first 10k run.

classical.

I recently got hooked with Edgar Cruz’s guitar arrangements for classical guitar. I’m currently learning how to play one of his arrangements. It’s a complicated task of synchronizing both your hands and putting your fingers in a harmonious fashion.

Wish me luck and patience. I really do look forward to finish learning his piece.

Quote

The healthy human mind doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that’s a luxury. Not a curse. To know you’re close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take…inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare…They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Kill him.

Birthdays

It’s a blessing for having reached this far of my life. It’s God’s gift for giving me another year to live. I feel old. Well that’s natural. Getting older is where we’re going and perhaps wisdom comes with age.

My birthday party with friends was almost ruined with some external forces in which I couldn’t control. And fortunately the situation was neutralized later on and everything was back into a party frenzy.

I felt lonely at first. I don’t know why.

But I realized that I have no reason to be lonely at all. It’s my birthday and I need to enjoy it.

Life is a blessing after all and I must thank each passing day of my life.

The Great Hunt

After a such a long time of what has been almost a year since I opened it’s seals, I finally finished reading the Great Hunt book 2 of the wheel of time series. It’s an awesome adventure of an epic fantasy that you will surely put yourself into their world.

This is the second time that I dealt with a fantasy book series as to Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth which I finished reading all 11 books. Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time is all the more epic and has a wide variety of characters, people and mythical creatures involved and has 12 books. Entering into fantasy, these two must be read though they have differences on how rich the characters are being described and the author’s work on writing the story.

Both works are really fantastic and an inspiration to me on reading more and writing all the more.

Destiny's Embrace: Keep Looking... Don't settle... →

You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you…

Knight and Day.

The movie was good and absolutely hilarious with the way Diaz portray her role. But what I actually find it interesting was that Criuse still has his charm and appeal at his age now.

He’s definitely an awesome actor.
